Looking Back and Moving Forward: How We’ve Adapted to the COVID-19 Pandemic

The year is almost over and as we reflect on this tumultuous time, we are grateful for the generosity of our supporters and dedication of our frontline employees. Together, we have accomplished so much. Most importantly, we have kept those we serve safe throughout this pandemic.

Older adults are most at risk from the negative health effects of COVID-19. We responded quickly in March and have continued to expand our services. Every month Seabury:

  • Delivers over 70,000 meals to older adults, keeping them fed and safe at home

  • Distributes over 1,600 face masks to protect older adults and caregivers

  • Calls over 350 older adults to check on their wellbeing

  • Offers over 30 virtual activities to engage older adults and decrease social isolation

We have also assembled a COVID-19 Response page on our website and are regularly updating it. We have recently added (and will continue to enhance) a Wish List for items that will offer a little extra joy for those in our communities.

Although we have rapidly, aggressively, and compassionately adapted to this pandemic, we know it is not over yet. As we celebrate the health and safety of those we serve, we also look toward the future. We continue to receive many requests for assistance and know that the winter months pose new challenges for older adults.

Please support our COVID-19 response through this winter by making a gift today. Please consider a recurring donation to make a continued impact on the lives of the older adults and family caregivers Seabury serves.
