Volunteer Opportunities

Looking for a group volunteer project in DC? Support a senior in Ward 4, 5, or 6 to age-in-place with light yard work and housecleaning. Help someone with the little tasks that can become a big burden, help residents stay connected with their community, and help foster intergenerational connections. Volunteers share their time, labor, and technical skills, while homeowners share their wisdom and life experience.

For individuals and groups of 4 - 8 on each project. Ideal for corporate volunteer days, congregations, and school service hours.

Monday – Saturday, 9:00 AM - 1 PM or 1 PM - 5 PM

Seabury at Friendship Terrace

Friendship Terrace is Seabury’s flagship independent living community, serving 180 senior households since 1970. Volunteers support residents on a 1:1 basis as pen pals or by providing companionship, or hosting an activity. Activities include Bingo, building snow globes, musical performances, yoga, and more! The possibilities are only limited by your skills and talents.

For individuals and groups (size varies by the activity).

Monday – Sunday, Time can shift to fit individual schedules

Community Dining Sites

Seabury operates two Wellness Centers and nine dining sites around Wards 5 and 6 for older adults. Volunteers help to serve meals or lead engagement activities. Activities can range from educational presentations, exercise, dance, social games, or more! We are open to ideas.

For individuals and groups up to four at each site.
