Leader Who Serves Meals to Thousands in DC Region to be Recognized by Seabury at Leadership in Aging
The 16th Annual Leadership in Aging Celebration will be held on Thursday, May 19th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Eaton DC. Funds raised at the event support essential services in housing, meals, and transportation for local older adults as Seabury Resources for Aging® continues to address food insecurity, social isolation, and a lack of affordable housing in the Washington, D.C. region.
The Board of Seabury Resources for Aging® is pleased to announce Mark Bucher as the recipient of the 2022 Leadership in Aging Award. This award recognizes an individual for their outstanding service in the field of aging.
Mark Bucher is the Co-Owner of Medium Rare restaurants, and Founder of Feed the Fridge, an initiative that places refrigerators filled with restaurant meals in areas of high food insecurity. Bucher’s team has delivered thousands of meals throughout the pandemic. His innovative solutions to hunger make the Washington, D.C. region a better place to age.
"It is an honor to receive Seabury's 2022 Leadership in Aging Award for my efforts to provide a safe and reliable way for seniors to find nourishment while they were isolated due to the pandemic”, said Bucher, upon receiving the news of his selection. “I'd like to thank the D.C. community for their support in helping provide over 25,000 meals to seniors who did not know where their next meal was coming from."
Please join us to celebrate Mark and this year's Community Partner, United Bank. Tickets and sponsorships are on sale now.
