Seabury Resources for Aging Appoints Deborah M. Royster as CEO

Seabury Resources for Aging announces the appointment of Deborah M. Royster as Chief Executive Officer, effective September 14, 2015.

Since 2012, Ms. Royster has served as General Counsel to the District of Columbia Office on Aging, where she provided legal advice on a diverse range of strategic, operational, and policy issues. She has also served as a senior level executive in the corporate and government sectors in health, telecommunications, and utility issues.

“We are very pleased that Ms. Royster will join Seabury as Chief Executive Officer,” said Gerry Perez, former President of the Board of Directors of Seabury Resources for Aging. “She brings a wealth of professional and leadership experience, and significant knowledge of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, to this position. We look forward to working together with her to build upon Seabury’s record of 91 years of service to older adults and family caregivers in the Metropolitan Washington area.”

Ms. Royster will succeed Joseph Resch who has been with Seabury since 1986 and its chief executive since 1990 and who is retiring. During Mr. Resch’s tenure, Seabury has grown from serving 250 people in Washington, DC in 1990 to more than 15,000 people in the greater Washington metro area today. “Under Joe’s leadership Seabury has become the area leader in aging services and furthered its mission of assisting older adults so that they may age with independence and dignity,” says Mr. Perez, “and we are grateful for his leadership and vision.”
