Black History Month 2021 | Virtual Resources & Celebrations
Black History Month is here! The Library of Congress, National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution, and United States Holocaust Memorial Museum have created a web portal, africanamericanhistorymonth.gov, to pay "tribute to the generations of African Americans who struggled with adversity to achieve full citizenship in American society." The portal lists virtual events and exhibits honoring black history. It even includes resources for educators planning to teach Black history.
As we strive toward a world where all can age with dignity, it is important to honor the contributions of those who have often been overlooked or marginalized. Celebrate, reflect, and learn more at africanamericanhistorymonth.gov.
