Seabury Resources for Aging Board Member Honored
Seabury Resources for Aging is proud to recognize Board Member Paula Singleton who was honored at the 49th National Episcopal Church Women Triennial Meeting with the Distinguished Women Award for outstanding ministries and lasting contributions to the Church and community. Seabury Resources for Aging is privileged and proud to count Paula Singleton as a Board member and we congratulate her on this much deserved honor. Ms. Singleton was recognized on July 8, 2018 in conjunction with the Episcopal General Convention in Austin, Texas.
Paula is a Washington D.C. native and lifelong resident. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Howard University she began a career in accounting and low-income housing management which she continued over four decades until retiring in 2006.
She has been a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church for nearly 60 years. Since retiring Paula has spent the last twelve years sharing her talents and energy with the Episcopal church and nonprofits serving those in need. At St. Luke’s she has served as senior warden, junior warden, treasurer and vestry member. She is also a member of the Episcopal Church Women, St. Luke’s Finance Committee, a Lector, and is an Outreach Coordinator heading up a weekly breakfast feeding for the homeless and needy in Washington D.C. In the past, she has served as treasurer and planning committee member of the Episcopal Church Women of the Diocese of Washington, treasurer of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, and as a member of the Finance and Audit Committees of the Diocese.
Currently and in addition to her work helping provide personalized and affordable services as well as housing options to older adults in the greater Washington, D.C. area with Seabury Resources for Aging she is also a board member for HousingUp (formerly Transitional Housing Corporation.)
