Back to School With Seabury Age-In-Place®

Summer’s end means new classes, school supply shopping, and the return to fall routines. Getting involved with Seabury’s Age-In-Place® program is the perfect way to re-energize after a long summer of internships, Netflix binges, and sleeping in. And we are the perfect match for students in need of service hours and student groups looking for service opportunities.

Age-In-Place® helps local seniors stay in their homes by providing volunteer yard work and house cleaning services. At Age-In-Place® you’ll do more than just volunteer, you’ll interact with clients as you serve. Together, we connect neighbors and build stronger neighborhoods one service project at a time.

Age-In-Place® is the ideal place for students, student groups, and even parents to volunteer. Here are some reasons why:

  • A short commitment of time with immediate impact – In just three hours you can make a difference. You can choose to do just one project on a Saturday morning, or a project after school on a Friday. Our schedule is flexible for students because we work Monday through Friday during the summer and Tuesday through Saturday during the fall and winter.

  • Great team building opportunity for groups – bring your soccer team to do some yard work; bring your book club out to do some light house cleaning. Age-In-Place works with groups of varying sizes from 2 to 10 volunteers at a time. Church groups, sororities, and fraternities, even your community gardening club: we would love to have you all volunteer with Age-In-Place®.

  • No experience? No problem. Age-In-Place® provides all of the equipment from the lawn mowers to the all purpose cleaner. You will be trained on how to use tools and equipment. And before the project starts, we provide an orientation sharing why the organization does this type of unique service and a little bit of background on the client you will serve.

  • 12 years and older? We want you! We welcome volunteers with Age-In-Place as long as you are 12 years old or older on the day of service.
