#TeamSeabury Profiles – Clergy Edition

Meet three new members of #TeamSeabury! Seabury believes cycling is a healthy activity beneficial to people of all ages, so we are hosting a Bike to Work Day pit stop on May 19. In anticipation, we invited cyclists to share their stories. Local clergy and cycling enthusiasts Rev. Elizabeth Tesi, Rev. Henry McQueen, and Rev. Michele Morgan shared their keys to healthy aging with us.

The Reverend Elizabeth Tesi, of St. John’s Norwood, is a cycling advocate active in the D.C. cycling community. In addition to serving as the Associate Rector at St. John’s, she is also a member of the Washington Area Bicyclists Association and Coordinator of the Women & Bicycles program. She rides three bikes, a multi-folder, a BMC roadie, and a Fuji Cross. Her favorite place to ride is the Anacostia River Trail Extension to Sligo Creek Park. She plans on one day cycling Oregon or the Alps with the support of her habits for healthy aging: eating vegetables and drinking “good wine from wineries who can tell you the story of their wine.”

Reverend Henry McQueen is the rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Olney, and loves to cycle! He owns multiple bicycles including a Brompton, Felt, and Merckx. His favorite Metro DC ride is the C&O Canal, and he hopes to one day ride the Alpe d’Huez in France. His key to healthy aging? Prayer. Reverend McQueen even has a special bicycle parking spot right inside his church!

Reverend Michele Morgan is the rector of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on Capitol Hill. She often rides to work on her Trek 7.5, and her favorite D.C. ride is the Metropolitan Branch Trail. She enjoys cycling with her wife, and would like to travel to Europe someday for a Bike & Barge Tour in Holland. Her key to healthy aging, other than cycling, is having a dog.
